PERMA was the very first thing we learned about in Flourishing, but truth be told, I’m still struggling to find those five elements in my life. I can definitely see a semblance of them, but I want to know how I can cultivate them even further. In my first Magis Musing, I mentioned that I had the most difficulty with positive emotions. Displaying positive emotions outwardly may not be challenging, but genuinely feeling them is another story. However, as I’ve developed the other components of PERMA, I’ve found that I can express positive emotions more easily. The strongest component of PERMA, in my opinion, is relationships. They’re what tie us to the world. My goal now is to round out the other parts of PERMA, but I’m confident that I can with the support of the people around me.
