Even though we might not put friends first in our lives, especially as we grow up, it’s still important to make that effort to maintain the relationship. It certainly gets difficult to keep in touch with friends, but I find that it’s always worth it. That gets me thinking about making new friends and the power that they have on making my day better, which encourages me to go out and strengthen them. For example, when I was struggling to get through the rest of my semester at Georgetown, I immediately reached out to a new friend I made and suggested we make pie to celebrate Pi Day. I initially treated the activity as if it were a distraction, but it ended up being one of my best experiences at Georgetown.
How do you make and sustain friends? What is one good memory that you have with your friends and why? What is one goal that you’ve set for yourself that relates to strengthening your friendships?
