I didn’t know how much I loved cooking until I started my journey with healthy eating. I always loved getting into baking projects and cooking wars with my friends (even though they never turned out well), but I rarely cooked real meals for myself. My diet often consisted of take-out food, with Domino’s being the favorite (I ordered so much that they would get worried when I didn’t order!). However, that resulted in me becoming fifteen pounds overweight with a body fat percentage of 40%. Because of the stress that came with moving to a new place, food became a way to control my surroundings and I developed an eating disorder. But then I learned about real nutrition, a concept that Flourishing reinforced. I realized that cooking for myself helped me manage my food intake healthily, so this is my way of reaching out to any college students struggling to pursue a nutritious but manageable diet.
