“We read to know we’re not alone.” – William Nicholson
When I was in kindergarten, I would hide myself in the coat closet and read books. In grade school, I amassed a collection of novels, kept them in meticulous condition, and organized them alphabetically by the author’s last name Today, not much has changed (though I’m much better with socializing!). Reading is still how I gain other perspectives and how I realize ways to improve myself and the world around me.
As we enter college, reading becomes more and more of a chore. It becomes less about entering new worlds and minds, and more about achieving an A for class. But reading is something that we should never take for granted. It creates writers, feeds ideas, and presents to us a mirror of ourselves and society. This page is a compendium of articles that do exactly that: they force us to reflect on who we are, who we want to be, and who we can be.
